Tweet “My husband is a man of few words. He even recycles his love notes!” Debi Drecksler After almost thirty four years of marriage, communication with my spouse remains an interesting challenge. My adorable husband is content to smile at me continuously and say very little. My favorite question is…”What are you thinking about?” He’ll look at me Tweet The other day I read another article about celebrities who are angry about having their pictures photoshopped in advertisements and publicity shots. It got me thinking about how I would feel if this was done to me. Of course, I would first have to be famous enough to have photographers clamoring for TweetI received a postcard in the mail from the DMV, notifying me that I could come any time in the next 6 months and renew my driver’s license. I’m going to hold out for awhile for a reason that may seem silly, but makes perfect sense to me…I don’t want to give up one of Tweet I like setting myself goals…Some of them are very realistic and some are as far fetched as me suddenly waking up 50 pounds thinner with hair that is manageable! One of my goals is to replace Joy Behar on the View! She’s got her own show now and it’s not like she needs the money! Tweet I performed comedy again last night at Tomato Tuesdays. ( New French Bar in downtown Asheville.) Most of the young people in the audience this Tuesday were barely out of their teens. For some reason the chairs were pulled up close enough for the audience to count my freckles. For me…It was very claustrophobic! It Tweet I have to keep paper and pencil all over the house so that when I spit out a funny line or two, I don’t forget them. Age related perhaps? Unfortunately, (just like my songs) my best comedy is written in the shower, not the greatest place to keep a notebook. I also come up Tweet A few excerpts from a recent comedy performance… “I’m really enjoying my new pink bicycle. My husband was a little worried because I hadn’t ridden in so many years. Riding up and down these mountains in North Carolina can be compared to having you know what at our age…It might take you a while to Tweet Sixteen months after receiving our new business number from AT&T, we are still receiving at least a dozen calls a day for the previous “assignees ” of this number. It wouldn’t be so irritating if they didn’t owe money to almost every caller. A typical call goes something like this. “I want to speak to Tweet I can’t see worth a darn (thanks to the crazy lady who ruined my eyesight), and every once in a while it frustrates me to the point that I want to SCREAM!! That’s when I try (very hard) to look at life with a sense of humor. So here goes…. I put in my YEARS Tweet Dear Readers, Here is a video of one of my comedy performances. P.S. The host was just kidding at the end. I did NOT “clean up my act” because my son was in the audience! I am always G-rated !! I’m a Jewish Mother!! Hope you enjoy!!
