Hope my readers can stand one more column about shoddy workmanship. I’ve written one after another because nothing is made well anymore! The other day, my normally even keeled husband blew his lid because…Here we are in this beautiful brand new townhome with all new state of the art appliances and every single one On August 25th, 2008, I wrote a column about shoddy workmanship …..It’s time for another! I recently moved into a brand new townhome…My first new home ever! My excitement was short lived when I realized how poorly all the appliances were made compared to what I had left behind in my other home. For I’m sure the title of this column attracted a few new readers and may have confused some of my regulars who know that Debi Drecksler is a G-rated columnist who even an 86 year Grandmother can read without blushing. Yes…the title was intended to catch your attention because as we all know… In this Months ago , I wrote a column about my frustration with skin care companies. (Read Enough Already) Elizabeth Arden has really pushed my buttons. On the back of the April, 2009 issue of More magazine, there is a full page glossy ad for a product called Prevage body total transforming anti-aging moisturizer. The ad My son The Attorney called me yesterday… He was aggravated because for the second time in weeks, he ordered sandwiches at a fast food establishment and needed a magnifying glass to find the meat. I am not surprised that the fast food industry has jumped on the bandwagon.A while back I wrote about shrink There are not a lot of late night eateries in our mountain town so IHOP stays very busy. I have to compliment them on doing a great job. Every time I have been there, the place is clean (including the bathrooms), the service is excellent and the food is really delicious. I was mesmerized I’m sure most of you have heard those television and radio commercials that advertise …You can save hundreds of dollars by buying our car insurance. We beat all the competition!Here’s the question….Almost every insurance company in this country is making the same claim so…Whose prices are they beating ?I think these commercials are ridiculous. Consumers are being warned to be careful which stores they purchase gift cards from because many big name companies are on the verge of closing. I don’t remember ever being so concerned about that before especially with the BIG companies….some of them have been around for years. It just goes to prove that nothing Everyone at some time in their life will own an insurance policy….Auto, health, homeowners, life…the list goes on and on. More often than not, these policies are written in language that is confusing to the guy on the street unless that person happens to be an Attorney or an insurance agent. Policy rates and Right now putting money in a bank (or stashing it under your mattress) has regained popularity because of the instability of the stock market. Since I’m sure we are all in agreement that a bank makes more sense than a mattress, let’s talk about what’s out there. Every bank has different options and the  |
