During these hard economic times businesses are having to cut back on company parties in an effort to cut costs. The big bashes are being replaced by potluck dinners or holiday lunch at the all you can eat buffet. It may seem like I’m harping on this subject but I feel it’s important enough Today, I was shopping and had the opportunity to talk to a few salespeople who work strictly on commission. They were all standing around looking pretty miserable because none of them had made a sale all day. They expressed their frustration at not only their lack of business but at the sluggish economy in The other day while grocery shopping I did my usual comparative pricing and discovered a store brand of tuna fish that was considerably less expensive than the more popular brands. In a few weeks his wife will be giving birth to their first child…a son. Everyone is hanging on to the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens after the House of Representatives rejected the Bailout Bill today. People are walking around in panic mode because the media is painting such a dismal scenario. As I said the other day, most of us in small town America Yesterday, I spoke to a family member who was sharing stories of wealthy Floridians who have lost their shirts in the real estate market and are ready to throw in the towel. Their lavish lifestyles have come to a screeching halt as they try to figure out whether it’s even possible to bail themselves The other day I wrote about our gas shortage in Western North Carolina and yesterday our prayers were answered….The gas started arriving…The lines were still backed up but this time people were a lot more patient and kinder to one another because there was more gas to go around. I want to thank the The gas shortage has become a huge problem in Western North Carolina. For some reason, we are getting shortchanged gasoline allocations. According to the news, it’s because we have so many independent stations here and they aren’t a priority. Go figure?? Unfortunately,, it’s bringing out the worst in some people. Tempers are flaring….especially when With the economy in a slump, many people are having to think outside the box with their careers. For example…anyone involved in real estate…realtors,mortgage processors,real estate attorneys etc… are finding their business in this field has slowed down considerably.
