This morning I read that Donna Summer had passed away after battling cancer.

I’ve been thinking about a show that my first born son, Jason, was in many years ago. (70′s) It was called Free To Be You and Me. There was a song in the show that I have always loved.  There are two little girls from the UK who have become more famous in a short period of time than most of us can ever dream of in a lifetime. It all started with a video that landed them on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. One performance on Ellen’s show led to another and before  The other day a story was told to me that will not make national headlines or even the local news but I believe that it is worth sharing. A few years ago, I couldn’t have imagined how my life would change by a social network called Facebook.  I’ve been reading a lot of blogs written by women, who as they hit middle age and older, become dissatisfied with their physical appearance. What they see when they look in the mirror is not what others are seeing…it is their critical perception of the reflection staring back at them. I would like to remove all labels that human beings feel a need to put on each other.  A few weeks ago, a story of a Mother who injected her 8 year old daughter with Botox made international news.  A traditional college education is no longer a guarantee for a monetarily successful future.  |
