I would venture to say that there is NOT one person in politics who hasn’t done something in their past that they would prefer to file under, “I did a dumb thing and I not proud of it!” I feel like we as a nation have lowered our expectations of our politicians. ![]() The BIG news the last few days has been Congressman Anthony Weiner’s confession that he sent messages and photos of a sexual nature to women online. This followed his complete denial of any inappropriate behavior. I’m listening to the Sunday morning political news and once again, I’m shaking my head mumbling, “Enough already!” News flash to the men and women running for political office and/or serving in political office. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO LIE TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC!!! On this particular morning they are talking about the senate Andrew Young’s book, The Politician is out and once again, North Carolina is put on the map for the sordid details of former presidential candidate John Edward’s affair with Rielle Hunter. People magazine (Feb 15, 2010 issue) included an interview with Young and his wife, Cheri. According to Andrew Young, he and his Former North Carolina Senator, John Edwards, is back in the news for allegedly fathering a child . Just like other politicians, Edwards lied to the world about his sexual relationship with someone other than his wife. I believe that salvaging his political career meant more to him than being honest. When Edwards finally came More news on Big Shots who got caught not paying taxes. Former senator, Tom Daschle withdrew his bid for United States Health Secretary and Nancy Killefer withdrew her candidacy to be the first Chief Performance Officer for the federal government. “Tom made a mistake, which he has openly acknowledged,” Obama said, speaking about Daschle, I don’t usually get into heavy duty politics in this column but I am making an exception today. I am aggravated about the nomination of Timothy Geithner as the Treasury Secretary of the United States. Geithner, the President of the New York Federal Reserve Bank failed to pay tens of thousands of dollars of I’m almost at the point where until Voting Day…I’m going to stop watching television commercials, answering calls from any unknown number and reading any mail that isn’t a bill, a flyer with coupons from a local store or an invitation to a great party. Because chances are… it’s a paid political ad from one |
