As the day for the Big Move grows closer, I have discovered things I haven’t thought about in years. I found wedding gifts carefully wrapped in a box that never got unpacked 17 years ago when we moved into this house. Nothing fancy…just lots of pretty serving trays and party dishes for entertaining. It was so much fun opening everything…almost as exciting as 33 years ago.
As I empty bookshelves, I am finding treasures…Albums filled with photographs of each stage of my children’s lives… It is as if time has gone backwards and I am feeling each moment all over again. I look at their precious faces and my eyes grow misty… not because I’m sad but because I’m thinking how the most inspiring, fulfilling years of my life… raising my 4 children… seemed to have gone by in the blink of an eye.
My packing is taking longer than expected but I don’t care… Life is too short not to seize the moment.
