I’m now convinced that the more unethical, promiscuous and downright sleazy you are, the greater your chances of having your own television show. Served time in jail? No problem… You’ll get your own talk show. Cheated on your spouse? No problem…You’ll get your own news show. Get into feuds with everyone in your life? No problem…you’ll get your own reality show.
What are the producers of these shows thinking? Money folks…They’re thinking money!! Television is a billion dollar business. The reality is… The American public craves this kind of drama. It’s like giving a kid one piece of candy and telling them they can’t have anymore. They want more and more and more. Americans have become a dumbed down society and the producers are laughing all the way to the bank!
The straw that broke the camels back for me was the day that CNN gave Eliot Spitzer, the disgraced former governor of New York, a talk show. What were they thinking? I read that the ratings were terrible…I’m glad. I hope he falls on his rear end and ends up in the gutter where he belongs.
When I think of all the decent, intelligent, ethical people who should have had that prime television spot it makes me wonder, “What’s going to be next America?”
