As always, I ate Sunday breakfast listening to “This Week” hosted by George Stephanopoulos. Today’s guest was Peter Orszag, Office of Management and Budget Director. Orszag said ..The President’s $3.6 trillion budget proposal may increase energy costs to offset the costs of health care reforms.
Former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich blasted the proposal this week: “How dumb do they think we are that they can pretend that an energy tax isn’t an energy tax, and they can pretend that every retired American who uses electricity isn’t going to pay it, and every person in New Hampshire who uses heating oil isn’t going to pay it, and every person who drives a car isn’t going to pay it?”
I think Newt Gingrich is completely justified in his concerns. I believe that all Americans need to follow this proposal very carefully. Orszac made a lot of promises that this proposal will benefit all of us.
I know I speak for many Americans when I say…Enough with the promises….Actions speak louder than words.
