Today we are helping our youngest daughter get ready for her big move to the West Coast. This is the one child who my husband and I thought would always live close by. But like her siblings, she has the desire to step outside her comfort zone and see what’s out there in the real world.
As we help our daughter finalize traveling plans and pack up what’s left of her belongings ( she sold off most of them) I feel my heart racing. I’ve done this 3 times before and it doesn’t get any easier. Though, I’m looking at a 25 year old woman…my eyes see a little girl with a head full of golden curls holding my hand as I walk her into a kindergarten classroom for the first time. I remember the moment as if it happened yesterday.
I hope the future is filled with happiness and wonderful new experiences for my daughter. Most importantly, a safe journey through the next stage of life.
