I Saw Bubbi in the Mirror: Life Stories of a Jewish Girl Raised in the 50s

Life has changed since the 1950s, but one thing remains the same… Everyone loves a great story.

Debi Nevel Drecksler, the “Wolfie’s Girl”, grew up in the 50s and 60s, raised children during the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and became a grandparent in the early 2000s.

From sitting with her father as a child and listening to stories about her family, to sharing those family stories (and new ones) with her own children and grandchildren, Debi’s love of storytelling has been an everpresent influence in her life and career as a writer.

Writing stories has allowed Debi to share her family history and recapture the moments that have most impacted her life.

Debi hopes through this book of short stories that you are transported back to your own special times.

This short read has so many deep lessons — of life, love, family, and Jewish history. Debi has revealed her life memories, her vulnerabilities, and her recollections.  –L.M. Zeichner

Being Jewish, I loved the connection and appreciated how Debi integrates the beauty of the culture, as it rolls through each story. Importantly, you don’t have to be Jewish to appreciate how family influences our lives and the community where we live. The tales are universal.–Elaine Plummer.
