My daughter called yesterday to sing,”Happy birthday!” Being a talented musician, it was a lovely rendition. Then she asked me a question,” So how does it feel to be 59?”
Being the funny Mama that I am, I told her that I scared the daylights out of myself when I looked in the mirror that morning. We had a good laugh and went on to talk about other things.
I thought about her question later in the day, as the snow was falling and I was sitting at my computer hoping to do some writing before we lost our power…again!
To my dear daughter, and anyone else who cares to know…This is what it feels like to be …
I am grateful to still be able to dance around the house...At my age, my Mother was bedridden from Parkinson’s Disease and spent most of her days curled up in a fetal position.
I am blessed to be married to a man who refuses to see any flaws in the woman he married and says his eyeglass prescription is just fine. I love you sweetie!
I love being “carded” when I ask for an over 55 discount!! (my response) “What are we running here a nightclub?”
My opinion goes up in value with every year. Something about the more you’ve lived, the wiser you get!”
I can be just a little bit sillier than last year. By the time I’m 80, I will have earned the title of, “Asheville’s most eccentric senior citizen!”
And last but not least…
Life is too short…I have places to go, things to do and people to see!! If you want to have FUN…hang out with me!!
