When you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom, there’s only one way to go and that’s up. It’s the climb back up that is a challenge. This is when it’s important to have what I call a spirit circle.
Meaningful relationships include a lot more than just sharing joyful moments and pleasure. There are times in each of our lives when we need to reach out to one another… inspiring, motivating and most importantly, healing battered spirits.
When the chips are down, it’s a precious gift to be on the receiving end of a listening ear or a hug or having someone remind us that we have a purpose on this planet. It’s times like this when we appreciate having others care enough to nourish our soul.
Being part of a spirit circle is an ongoing life experience. We are symbolically holding hands with the people we love and guiding each other through all the trials and tribulations of life.
For years my Father gently place his healing hands on my invalid Mother, breathing life back into her spirit. He spoke to her as if she was still standing by his side, not cradled in his arms. This was the woman who birthed his five children, stood by his side over four decades and loved him unconditionally. I learned about the power of a spirit circle firsthand from watching my Father.
It is this example that makes me grateful for the love that overflows from my own spirit circle.
