Money, power and success can come and go but your reputation sticks to you like glue. In today’s world, I am concerned that this is not taken seriously enough.
An example…We have a former President who lied to the American public about his promiscuous behavior and then expected us to accept it and forget it when the truth was finally revealed. This man held the most powerful position in the country…Did he ever consider that he was destroying his reputation by lying to the American public? Did he even care?
In the old days, a person’s reputation was referred to as their good name and it carried a lot of weight. People thought twice before destroying something they worked so hard to earn.
We live in a very disposable world….My hope is that people will realize that a good reputation is much too valuable to throw away.
