In the past few weeks, I felt like I was playing the stock market when in actuality I was trying to lock in a great mortgage rate for my almost built town home. Every day, I watched as the rates fluctuated…going up and then back down… …wondering if this would be the lowest they would get.

I called Genie Orr, my mortgage consultant at Capital Bank, several times in the last week nicknaming her “The Genie ” because I needed her to say “Yes…My magical powers are telling me that today’s the day that you should lock in that rate…It will not get lower”. She said she wasn’t sure about her magical “genie” skills but thought that something would happen very soon and promised to stay on top of the situation.

The day after I decided (with Genie’s blessing ) to lock in a rate, she called to let me know that I had made a great decision because the rates were back up. She sounded really happy and perhaps a little relieved that now her life could go back to normal. Actually, that may not happen …Her customer service is so outstanding, I’ve awarded her the Debi Drecksler.com seal of approval.

She might want to polish up on those “genie” skills…
