Sometimes it’s life’s spontaneous decisions that bring the most happiness. My husband and I were coming back from a short trip to South Florida when we decided to make a detour and go to St. Augustine Beach.

The other day, I was participating in my umpteenth online conversation about what defines a beautiful older woman. I mentioned that I thought a naturally aging face was beautiful. A few comments later, I added another thought. Those freckles I hated as a kid might be my secret age weapon as a 61 year old! Lately I’m feeling like my life is on speed dial. Where did the last 10 years go or the last 20? I was born in Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida on January 29th, 1951. According to my Mother, I started to come into the world before the Doctor could be located. The nurses were instructed to stop my birth. I am claustrophobic. It all started 37 years ago, when I was confined in an elevator and couldn’t get out. I felt the walls caving in on me and I couldn’t breathe.  Jan.16th is my 35th wedding Anniversary. I think that’s a pretty good accomplishment in this day and age considering I know couples who stay together less time than the warranty on their appliances. The other day my husband and I were coming back from a business meeting when he suddenly decided to stop by the side of the highway and take pictures of me on an old bridge. I’d been on that bridge before and remembered how I felt as the bridge swayed with each step I took. Here are some of the items I sold at my yard sale and a little about the “characters” who purchased them. I was offline for a few days and went back on, I discovered that Facebook had completely revamped their format. People of all ages were complaining but I was imagining that MY generation was suffering the worst anxiety over the changes.  I’ve come up with a plan that I have named, ” Debi’s …Make Each Day Last A Little Longer.”  |
